Scoops & Slices

Happened to be in the area on a hot day when I decided to drop by Scoops & Slices, instead of the familiar Baskin-Robbins and Udders also at Novena, for homemade ice-cream. Its baby blue logo, dark wooden tables and black sofas stood out against the mostly-white space that also reflected light. So the simply-furnished café is bright and spacious with an all-glass frontage, white cabinets and walls (tables and chairs too) as well as light homogenous tiled flooring.

Ordered a homemade waffle to go with my choice of durian ice-cream, a bonus that it is low-fat and uses only the freshest ingredients. Could smell the aroma of warm waffle as well as the smooth and creamy durian ice-cream, which I would prefer a stronger taste. The waffle had a nice crisp crust, was a tad salty on the inside that was well-balanced by the sweet icing sugar and chocolate sauce (thought it would go better with the combination than maple syrup), and good enough on its own.
